I did some charity and got a medal for it. errr
Tuesday, August 29, 2006The setting for Robin Hood might be different from what the setting is today. Those were the times when rich people became rich by looting(possibly - I didnt live then to see) the poor. And Robin Hood brought back the riches to the poor. What were the poor doing all this time...?
Do we have to do charity?
Under what conditions do we need to do charity?

For a reason does Bill Gates have a $40B charity foundation and for a reason did Warren Buffett gave away near 85% of his fortune towards charity.
It is all about the capable one lending a helping hand to the deprived one.
We cannot just blame the deprived for not being enterprising enough, as for the fact that controlling his adversity may be beyond his reach.
eg: Talk about a well educated doctor fighting for basic necessities at places like the war-torn eastern europe or middle-east.
Charity is a philanthropic act that can give a sense of satifaction for the ones indulged in it and can be done to the extent of their best possibility.
